Students' need to be mentally 'hooked in' to the classroom activities to derive full benefit from the individual lessons. {Click here for an example.] They also need to be "all in" with the purposes of an education in order for it to transfer to life after school. TS Gold

Target 75% of PK-K students meeting target band in 4 or more of the 6 areas.
Teaching Strategies Gold is one of the best tools available for:
  • observing and documenting children’s development and learning over time
  • planning instruction and scaffolding learning
  • identifying who might benefit from special help, screening, or further evaluation
  • reporting and communicating with family members and others
It is an authentic assessment system based on observational notes and evidence of the whole child's learning behaviors and performance. Through it we get to know children well: what they know and can do, as well as their strengths, needs, and interests. With this information, we can better design children’s learning experiences through engaging activities that help build on their strengths and interests.
TS Gold blends ongoing, real-life, observational tools across all areas of development and learning with intentional, focused, performance-assessment tasks for selected literacy and numeracy objectives. It includes objectives that are related to children's learning dispositions, such as attending, engaging, persisting and showing curiosity, motivation, flexibility and inventiveness in thinking. In addition, this assessment recognizes that young children’s development is uneven, that it changes rapidly, and that development and learning are interrelated, and overlapping..
